HONG KONG, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The strategy of U.S. climate change diplomacy has fundamental problems for its approach towards China, said an opinion piece by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) recently.

"What matters in the 'green great game' is the choreography," said the article. "The Chinese won't be pushed around."

China has announced it would peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, "putting it ahead of the U.S. in formally committing to a target date for achieving net zero emissions," it said.

"Ultimately, more would be achieved if suspicions were reduced and collaboration increased," said the opinion piece.
